Jordan Utley is a Salt Lake City-based photographer whose work explores themes of ambiguity, uncertainty, and personal transformation. He studied film at the University of Utah and his visual storytelling began in the moving image. The beginning of his career was in the BMX industry creating long form film about bike culture, earning critical acclaim, including the 2012 Nora Cup and a feature in the Warsaw Museum of Modern Art.
In 2019, he shifted his focus to documentary photography. His photography has been featured in “Out Here On Our Own: An Oral History of an American Boomtown” (University of Nebraska Press, 2022), as well as in High Country News, Popular Mechanics, Hamburger Eyes, Tropical Stoemp, and Booooooom’s collective book, “Pictures and Songs”. His work will also appear in the new collective book "Z3NE" from Zone Magazine.
